Presence of gestational sac helps in determining pregnancy. Gestational sac can be seen in the transvaginal ultrasound within the initial three weeks of pregnancy. During this time of pregnancy, the average diameter of the sac is around two to three millimeters. At around five or six weeks, the yolk sac often becomes visible inside the gestational sac.
When the doctor finds out that gestational sac is present, then it indicates pregnancy. During my first pregnancy, my doctor mentioned the same. Gestational sac helped us support the news of pregnancy.
