    Q. What is vitrification in In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) procedure?
    • Vitrification is a technology used in In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) procedures which is used in the embryo and egg freezing process in order to store them for later use. It is a technology which allows a crystalline structure to be converted into something very smooth. With the help of vitrification procedure, frozen embryo transfer has become easy and convenient.

    • IVF procedure includes various steps and vitrification is one of them. Vitrification procedure is performed when there are certain number of embryos left after the ET step in IVF. This helps in storing quality embryos so that they be used for later pregnancies or for donating to couples in need.
