There are mainly two types of Surrogacy such as traditional surrogacy and gestational surrogacy. In traditional surrogacy, the woman is directly inseminated with the male's sperm. And the woman carries the baby during pregnancy for the couple. Meanwhile, in gestational surrogacy, the required amount of sperms and eggs taken from the couple is fertilized and the formed embryo is then implanted into the uterus of the surrogate mother.
Surrogacy procedure is in demand for couples who are unable to conceive naturally. Pregnancy occurs in surrogate mother. Gestational surrogacy is legal in several other countries including the developed ones. Altruistic surrogacy is in demand in India. Childless couples can opt for surrogacy procedure.
