Q1. hi..meri age 33 hai maine ivf liya tha jisme mere bhut se test hue or ek test amh jo mera 1.90 aya treatment k doran mujhe follic k liye injection diye gye mujhe 3 follic bne lekin growth nhi hue dr ne mujhe egg donner pr jaane ki advise di hai maine ivf cycle beech mai hi leave kr di kiya mai next cycle try kru ya donner pr jau pls help me..

      • A. Your AMH is on the lower side. If you are not getting good quality mature eggs then you may have to opt for donor option. I would advice you to take a second opinion on this. With age, it is common to have low AMH but if your egg quality is fine, you can still continue with your egg.

Q2. My age is 39 years. In last two years 3 miscarriages happened. After that we done the karyotyping blood test. My husband test are OK. But in my case there is slight increase in the length of satelight observed on chromosomes 21. Is there any issue for pregnancy. Can I give a birth to healthy baby or not. Or shall we need to go for ivf? Please advise.
      Posted on: Oct. 21, 2018, 6:03 p.m.
      • A. Your karyotyping report suggests that you have genetic issues which might be the reason of recurrent miscarriages. In this case, I would suggest you to opt for PGD IVF which will avoid any genetic defect in your baby.

Q3. Hi doctor....my ovaries are bulky ..doctor has suggested me to do hysteroscopy .....is it necessary or can I go for medication first...and what will be the cost for hysteroscopy
      Posted on: Dec. 15, 2018, 10:37 a.m.
      • A. Bulky ovaries signify that you might be having PCOD problem. Hysteroscopy depends on the severity of the problem. Please consult a specialist so that it can be decided whether you actually needs a hysteroscopy or not. The cost of hysteroscopy varies from Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 30,000.

Q5. I am unable to conceive due to PCOD. My husband's test values are normal. Should we go for surrogacy with some egg donor?
      Posted on: March 8, 2019, 12:49 a.m.
      • A. With this information I dont think you should make a decision. Surrogacy is when the case is far more complicated. I would suggest to visit a fertility doctor and then make a decision. PCOD is not a reason enough to go for Surrogacy.

Q6. When does IVF ICSI procedure benefit couples? Me and my wife are planning for a baby.
      Posted on: March 26, 2019, 1:10 p.m.
      • A. IVF ICSI procedure benefits couples who are trying for baby with assistance of proven medical treatments. But these couples are not able to conceive because of male fertility problems in the concerned partner. ICSI is the prime additional medical solution in case of low sperm count or quality, semen quantity. Fertility drugs also help in achieving the desired results when administered during infertility treatments. You must consult an infertility specialist with good experience in treating couples with infertility issues. Wish you all the luck for your IVF ICSI treatment!

Q7. We have been trying to get pregnant for the past 9 months but have not conceived. What is the first step to treatment?
      Posted on: Sept. 25, 2019, 7:54 p.m.
      • A. First of all, you should avoid all the things that prevent conceiving. Both you and your partner must eat healthy food and maintain prime health with adequate weight. Drinking, smoking, and exposure to harmful environments must be completely avoided. Foods such as green vegetables, fruits, yogurts and dry fruits rich in folic acid should be taken regularly for a healthy pregnancy. The amount of caffeine intake must be reduced to avoid any risk of miscarriage. Keep track of your ovulation with a fertility monitor or ovulation predictor kits to know the best time to conceive. If you are taking prescribed drugs and medications, it must be stopped as it can be the reason you are failing to conceive. If the problem in conceiving persists after 3 more months, visit your doctor and know about your health conditions. Both the couple should test for any abnormalities in the reproductive system. The doctor may also counsel and prescribe medications to improve the chances of getting pregnant. Most important of all, you should not take stress as some couples get naturally pregnant after a year of trying. You can approach an infertility specialist if you are not able to conceive naturally for more than a year. If the chances of conceiving naturally are very low, the doctor may suggest you go for ART treatment.

Q8. What is the cost of baby delivery?
      Posted on: Sept. 25, 2019, 7:54 p.m.
      • A. The cost of having a baby begins with prenatal care which keeps adding up until childbirth. Women who are approaching the last month of pregnancy should be financially prepared. The cost of prenatal vitamins, maternity clothes, labor room charges, OT and anesthesia charges, pediatrician fees, room rent, surgeon fees, and baby care charges for routine care can all add up to a hefty cost. Medicines, consumables, procedures, and tests further increase the costs. Delivery charges can vary according to the city, hospital, facilities, and type of room chosen. On average, the charges for a normal birth can range between Rs.15,000 to Rs.75,000 while an uncomplicated cesarean section at a private hospital can range between Rs.25,000 to Rs. 200,000. At a government hospital, the cost of normal delivery may range from Rs.5000 to Rs.15000. Some common delivery complications such as abnormal presentation, dangerous umbilical cord positioning, difficulty breathing, amniotic fluid embolisms, irregular blood pressure may also arise which can cost extra to treat. In these cases, the mother may have to stay longer at the hospitals which increases the rooms charges. Many of these complications that arise during childbirth are out of your hands, but you can make sure they are treated as quickly and easily with good prenatal care. To reduce the cost during the stay at the hospital, parents-to-be can carry maternity clothes, baby clothes, wipes, diapers and other requirements after birth. You can also save money on diapers and wipes by buying in bulk. You can also reduce the costs by talking to your friends and family members who have previously given birth and understand their unnecessary expenses during their delivery. At Saraogi Hospital and IRIS IVF Center, they strive to help couples by reducing their cost on unnecessary procedures and tests. They try to reduce your term of stay at the hospital by speeding up your recovery through constant care of you and your child. The labor and delivery care team assists you in through-out delivery to ensure the well-being of both the mother and the child.

Q9. How long does a complete IVF process take?
      Posted on: Sept. 25, 2019, 7:55 p.m.
      • A. The IVF process starts from the first day of your visit with the infertility specialist, as planning is a very important part of the IVF process. In this first visit, the clinic will analyze your extensive medical history from you and your partner, and try to answer your concerns and questions you. The doctor will also review your diagnosis and the details of your desired treatment plan. During the first visit, the doctor may also provide financial counseling and advice to help minimize some stress. Your preparation for IVF begins from week 2 to week 4. The doctor may conduct comprehensive lab tests to have a clear picture of your fertility. He may take blood tests, ultrasounds, infectious disease screening, uterine evaluation, and male fertility testing. Oral fertility medications begin on the 5th week of IVF treatment which continues till 7th week. Ultrasounds and blood tests are also done during this time. On the 7th week or once the follicles have grown to an appropriate size, a trigger shot is given to release the eggs. On this day, the egg retrieval is performed. After eggs and sperms are collected and fertilized in a lab. After 3 to 6 days of fertilization, the embryos are transferred to the uterus. About 12 days after the embryo transfer, a pregnancy test is taken to confirm success.
