    Q. Is there any difference between IVF and ZIFT?
    • ZIFT (Zygote Intrafallopian Transfer) is a procedure, which is very similar to In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). But, the main difference that distinguishes them is that in the case of ZIFT the fertilized embryo is transferred into the fallopian tube instead of the uterus. That is why, the procedure is also referred to as tubal embryo transfer (TET). In ZIFT, the fertilized eggs or zygotes are returned to the fallopian tubes where they will be carried into the uterus. After that, the zygote will implant in the uterus and develop into a fetus.
