UsesGatifloxacin is used as a local treatment for bacterial eye infection (conjunctivitis) in adults and children older than 1 year of age
Mechanism of Action- Gatifloxacin is an antibiotic belongs to the group of medicines called fluoroquinolone antibiotics
- It inhibits bacterial reproduction by inhibiting protein formation, thereby killing the bacteria
DosageIV- The recommended dose is 200 mg to 400 once a day for 3 to 10 days

Warnings/PrecautionsCaution should be exercised in patients with history of heart disease, low potassium level in blood, brain disorders, diabetes, mineral imbalance, epilepsy, musculoskeletal problems, elderly, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding It may cause dizziness, drowsiness, or lightheadedness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication Avoid alcohol consumption
