Q. Can hCG be detected if not pregnant?
Saakaar Sharma
  • A. hCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. It is a hormone which is produced by the placenta after implantation. The presence of hCG is detected in some pregnancy tests in around 11 days after conception, and a urine test can detect it in around 12 to 14 days after conception. If in case hCG testing occurs before all of the hCG has been metabolized out of the body then Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) can be detected by a lab test.
