    • Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS) is a prenatal test performed during pregnancy to determine specific abnormalities in the baby growing in the womb. CVS is done by collecting a sample of cells from placenta and tested for genetic defects. Chromosomal abnormalities in the baby such as Down's syndrome and genetic diseases such as cystic fibrosis can be detected in CVS test.
