Rantac 150 MG tablets are composed of Ranitidine and are used to treat acidity, heartburn, stomach ulcer and intestinal ulcers. There are various substitutes to Rantac 150 MG tablet such as Aciloc, Ranacid and Nicotac. Rantac 150 mg tablets may lead to side effects such as headache, dizziness, stomach pain and vomiting.

What is the salt composition of Rantac 150mg tablet?

Being a group member of histamine- 2-blocker, Rantac 150 mg tablet is composed of Ranitidine. The drug is used for controlling duodenal ulcer, gastric ulcer, gastroesophageal reflux disease etc. Its intake can also increase pneumonia succumbing. The symptoms include chest pain, fever, coughing, slim green snort and breathing problem. Do not change the dosage of the medicine. Rantac 150 MG Tablet is for oral consumption and needs to be swallowed immediately. The drug needs to be consumed till the ulcer heals completely. It will take almost 2 weeks for the ulcer to heal properly. One thing one needs to keep in mind is that if you are allergic to this drug then consult the doctor for the alternative. The medicine is not safe to consume if you are suffering from health issues like liver, kidney problems and porphyria. 5- Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease: The medicine is also used for treating the condition where acid produced in the stomach causes irritation in food pipe.

6- Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: It is a rare condition where acid secretion is quite high in the stomach. Rantac 150 MG tablet helps in relieving the symptoms of this condition.

What are the Instructions for Rantac 150 MG Tablet Dosage?

Consumption of this medicine should be done under the supervision of a doctor. In case, if you have missed the dose then it should be taken as soon as possible. Skip the missed dose if it is around your scheduled time for next dose.

What are the interactions of Rantac 150 MG tablet?

Below is the list of interactions of Rantac 150 MG tablet with different things:

With disease:

1- Porphyria: Patients with a history of acute Porphyria are advised to take this medicine with extreme caution.

2- Gastrointestinal bleeding: Patients with symptoms indicating gastrointestinal bleeding are not recommended with this medicine. Talk to your doctor once if there is blood in vomit or have dark or bloody stools.

3- With Alcohol: If you are on Rantac medicine then avoid the alcohol consumption. And if you are experiencing prolonged heartburn or blood presence in vomit or stools then consult the doctor.

With Medicines:

1- Atazanavir: Must report to the doctor about the usage of this medicine, as they will adjust the Atazanavir dosage when consumed with Rantac 150 MG tablet.

2- Dasatinib: It is recommended to replace the use of either one or both medicines with the alternates, which don't interact.

3- Pazopanib: Use of the Rantac 150 MG tablet with this medicine should be avoided. You must consult the doctor as they may prescribe the suitable alternative for it.

4- Metformin: When these two medicines are taken together, a dose adjustment and frequent monitoring of blood level are advised.

5- Ketoconazole: Rantac 150 MG tablet makes Ketoconazole less effective. If the symptoms don't improve or get worse then inform your doctor. Without doctor's consult don't stop these medicines intake.

6- Loperamide: Safety monitoring, as well as dose adjustment, is required when these two medicines are taken together. Ask for the alternative if your Loperamide drug intake is high or you have heart related problems.

What are the precautions of Rantac 150 MG tablet?

Go through the warnings and precautions below before taking the medicine:

1- It is advised to take Rantac 150 MG tablet under the doctor supervision.

2- For avoiding the risk of stomach damage, do not consume alcohol with the intake of this medicine. Do not consume alcohol for next three days at least after the medicine's last dosage.

2- This drug passes through the breast milk. It is advised to consult a doctor during lactation.
