Stress hinders one’s health and well-being and you won't even know that how devasting stress can be when it comes to conceiving. Stress can also come in the way of conception for couples who are trying to conceive. It is very important for women to decrease their daily stress levels and hectic life and somewhere need to change their lifestyle before planning for a pregnancy and for smooth conception and a healthy pregnancy for nine months. If you are thinking that how to get pregnant you should also know that getting pregnant is difficult as stress affects pregnancy. Here is how high-stress levels can affect conception vastly:

1. Stress can Lead to Decreased Egg Production: Stress induces various types of hormonal secretions in the body that leads to an imbalance in the body. Stress directly disrupts the functioning of the hypothalamus, that is a gland which is responsible for the proper functioning and the secretion of various hormones of the endocrine system. This, in turn also affects the hormones that help in the production of ovum or eggs. When stress comes between the ovulation, it is called as stress-induced anovulation.

This medical condition leads to late ovulation period in a cycle or no ovulation period at all, hence leading to problems with conception. If you are thinking that how to get pregnant you should also know that getting pregnant is difficult as stress affects pregnancy.

2. Stress Affects Male Fertility: If you think that stress creates a problem only with women, not with men, then you are wrong. Stress not only interferes with female fertility but also creates a problem with the functioning of the male reproductive system. High level of stress both physically or mentally directly results in lower testosterone production, less sperm count/quality and other problems like erectile dysfunction that can make conception difficult for the couple to conceive. 

3. Stress Disturbs the Functioning of the Endocrine System: Stress doesn’t result in reproductive problems directly. There are various hormonal changes taking place in the body that disturbs the normal functions of the body like irregular sleep, fatigue, weight gain, digestion can indirectly affect the reproductive cycle in a woman and lower the sperm count and motility in the males.

Schedule a routine which includes some exercise for yourself which could include walking, running, yoga, and aerobics.You should take out time for your hobbies and needn't overstress at work.
