Feminism has been a big discussion topic recently. Many celebrities have come forward in support of the much talked and hyped matter. And who can miss bold beauty Kangana Ranaut, the most buzzed celebrity of this week has bombarded the show with her dose of feminism.
As a bollywood fan, I always thought Indian actresses are associated with glamour and vanity. Earlier the women were considered as the narcissists but with time, the industry is witnessing a great transformation in the mindsets of the artists. The actresses are not scared of putting forth their opinions in the context of gender stereotypes. The leading ladies have crossed extra mile and chose movies that speaks about women myths, portraying them in a completely different light.
And it is hard to miss the bold beauty of Bollywood, Kanagna Ranaut's views on feminism. The actress's selection of movies screamed loudly what she feels and how women need to take up a stand for herself. Starting from her 'Gangster' days to recent 'Manikarnika', the actress proved her versatility.
This Bollywood beauty has recently grabbed the eyeballs of masses after her eventful interview with Rajat Sharma in Aap Ki Adalat. In that very show, Kangana was seen discussing various disputes and controversies with some of the the most sizzling B-Town big stars including Hrithik Roshan, Aditya Pancholi, Adhyayan Suman and Ketan Mehta.
In this show of Anupama Chopra, Kangana was seeing crossing the boundaries of an agreement she entered before the show with Anupama. As per the agreement the show was not be about any controversy and was only to focus on acting enchantments of Kangana.
But, the bold Kangana seemed to blow away the agreement and ended up discussing the eventful journey of her in Bollywood and her feminist feuds with B-Town celebrities whom she kept alleging of Nepotism.
While discussing her upcoming movie ‘Simran’, Kangana took a pro-sex stand for women and discussed her character in the movie who enjoys having sex with men.
The lead defends women as progressive who can take their own decision in all matters - right from clothes to boys. In the movie ‘Simran’, Kangana will be shown as a single divorced lady who is a liberal woman dating multiple guys.
Kangana also discussed about another film ‘Manikarnika’ and her strength to go for stunt scenes without using her screen double. On the show, she does mention about the reactions of people especially guys (on the set) when she got hurt accidently while shooting. As per her saying, people praised her that she has got balls, which she found offensive as a woman.
For Kangana, women have a unique set of powers for which they are not appreciated by the patriarchal society. She goes in saying how in the place of balls, she should have been applauded as having ‘ovaries’ or ‘vagina’ which are symbols of women prowess.
On the show problems really began when when she used her sexuality and feminism and entered into the allegation debate. She complained about the patriarchal directors she had worked in the past and was disgusted because of their low thinking of women.
Apart from Kangana, several actresses put forth their views about the discussion. As the transition phase is proceeding in the industry, it is a dire need of women to emancipate and stand for her equal rights.
