There are many things that should be considered like nutrition, physical activities, do’s and don’ts associated with IVF treatment. 2- Avoid Long Distance Travelling

  • Traveling by cars: For IVF undergoing patients, there is no problem traveling by car, but it is recommended not to travel if the journey is too long as there are chances for IVF failure. Better would be consult your doctor before planning any such trip.
  • Traveling by flight: If you have to travel by flight, then 2 to 3 hours traveling can be done. Long hours traveling might lead to blood clot because of lesser blood movement.

3- Take Medicines on Time

Medications prescribed by doctor should be taken timely. You should not panic if you have missed a dose. Give an immediate call to your doctor for further medicine dosage.

4- Abstain from Sexual Intercourse

There is usually nothing unsafe having sex, but some women who are using injectable medicine for IVF may experience enlarged ovaries and it might make intercourse uncomfortable. While sex during fertility treatment isn't unsafe but there are several instances where intercourse and ejaculation are not recommended to increase the chances of success.

5- Take Healthy and Balanced Diet

Healthy eating is advised and inclusion of balanced diet is always recommended. You need to take precaution while selecting what to eat and what to avoid. If you have a habit to take a hot bath then, change your habit as this might create a problem for you during IVF. Soothing water temperature can be used; it should neither be too hot nor too cold. Keeping the body at its normal temperature is the need.

Activities like yoga are important but you need not stretch your body. You can ask your doctor for yoga steps you can perform. A kilo or two can be managed but lifting more than that can become a problem.
