    4- Know When You Need To Avoid Combination Pill

    You need to avoid combination pills if you feel nausea and vomiting while taking these birth control pills. You should even avoid them if you smoke and not willing to quit smoking at any cost. If you have given birth recently and planning to avoid pregnancy for the next couple of years, then you should start these birth control pills after 3 months. (7)


    Mini-Pills are birth control pills with the progestin hormone only. These birth control pills only thicken the cervical mucus and block the passage of sperm to flow inside the ovaries. These are the best birth control pills if you are sensitive to estrogen; feel nausea and vomiting. (8)

    Advantages of Mini-Pills

    This birth control pill has an advantage over a combination pill, as it does not any harm to patients with heart disease. You can have it safely even if you had strokes and you are a heavy smoker. (9)

    • Mini Pill Names- Likewise combination pills, these birth control pills are also available with names like Errin, Jolivette, Micronor, and Camila.
    • Inert Pill- Unlike combination pills, these birth control pills have hardly any inert pills. They are in it so light that you do not require any other inert or inactive pills. Mini-pills pack has all active tablets only.

    Word of Caution-These birth control pills are highly effective. Certain mini pills include patch and shot methods, too. Do not use combination pills if you are a heavy smoker or suffering from heart disease. In such, Mini-pills will prove the best birth control pill for you. (10)
