Female condom is a contraception and a better option than oral contraceptive pills or birth control pills. It is a best birth control methods and protect against STD

A Female Condom is a pouch type condom used by females that are directly inserted into the vagina before intercourse to prevent pregnancy and reduce the risk of sexually transmitted infections or diseases.

birth control, oral contraceptive pills

The contraception female condom is a very thin sheath made of nitrile polymer and can be used by the ones who have a latex allergy and female condoms come with a soft ring at both the end. One ring of the female condom is covered with polyurethane that fits over the cervix and rests behind the pubic bone, acting as an anchor to hold it back when you are having intercourse. The open and the larger outer ring covers part of the perineum and labia. The female condom is one of the best birth control methods and better than the oral contraceptive pills cause it also have adverse effects on health.

Likewise, male condoms, the contraception female condom is available at almost every drug store, without a prescription. As you know that it is not made of latex, it will not deteriorate when used with oil-based lubricants as latex have the negative reactions of oil base lubricants. The female condom can be inserted before 3 hours of intercourse but should be removed immediately once you have intercourse. The contraception female condom is pre-lubricated with a silicone-based lubricant and remember that female condom does not contain spermicide to stop the sperms from entering the vagina. The female condom is one of the best birth control methods and better than the oral contraceptive pills cause it also have adverse effects on health. This is very important for the couples to know that male and female condoms should not be used at the same time because due to the added friction between the two condoms could cause them to break or burst or might have adverse side effects on the skin. Like the male condom, the female condom is also intended for one-time use.

The effectiveness of female condom:

The female condom is 95 % effective in preventing pregnancy and STD's when used consistently and correctly.

Advantages of Female Condom:

  • Does not require advanced clinic visits, planning, or a prescription.
  • Provides protection against STIs or STD's, including HIV.
  • You don’t have to rely on your partner to use a condom.
  • The outer ring may stimulate the clitoris and make intercourse more magical
  • No systemic adverse side effects.
  • Does not affect menstrual cycles at all

Disadvantages of Female Condom:

  • Female condoms are not as effective in preventing pregnancy as hormonal methods or a male condom.
  • Female condoms are cost somewhat more than a male condom and may not be as readily available.
  • Female condoms requires a brief pause to put on.
  • Can take practice before insertion becomes easy.
  • Some women find that the rings of female condoms cause discomfort.

How to use a female condom?

contraception, birth control methods

Female condoms use can be fun for both partners when it is made part of intercourse.

Carefully open the packet of contraception female condoms and find the inner (smaller) ring, which is at the closed end of the condom. Squeeze the inner ring together and push it up into your vagina with your finger to the end. The female condom is one of the best birth control methods and better than the oral contraceptive pills cause it also have adverse effects on health.

  • When your partner's penis is erected, you will need to guide the penis through the outer ring, to make sure that the outer ring of the female condom is not pushed to the sides of the vagina.  You can use any kind of lubricant, water- or oil-based, with the female condom.
  • After intercourse, remove the female condom. Squeeze gently and twist the outer ring to keep the sperm inside the pouch and it should not seep out of the female condom.

If you do not want to use any contraceptives, sex on safe days can be practiced to avoid unwanted pregnancy. In case, you had unprotected sex on fertile days then it's better to take emergency contraceptive pills such as  I-pill and Unwanted 72 to avoid pregnancy.

Using oral contraceptive makes me feel nausea and heavy cramps. Female condoms have none of these side effects and I am happy with its results.

It feels like partiality after feeling the difference between female and male condoms. But a woman has other cheaper options too for birth control and that's relieving.

Looks quite interesting to me. Also I've heard that female condoms need to be stored in places that aren't too hot or too cold, and keep them safe from wear and tear.
