Baby Shower Planning and Checklist

Baby Shower Planning and Checklist

Know all about planning your own baby showers and learn ways to maintain your baby shower checklist in this article. Also understand the factors to look for before deciding the favorable time to throw your baby shower.

Are you expecting your first child? Are you looking forward to celebrate the happiness of first child but don't know how to plan and celebrate your own baby shower? If you are one of those then go through this article and plan your own baby shower function.

A baby shower is actually a function or celebration for the expected or delivered birth of a child. It is for the mother and it is meant to signify the transformation of a woman into a mother.

1- Who can throw baby shower?Unlike other functions, baby showers are not supposed to plan by the expected mother. Usually a close family member, close friend, a coworker or a relative organizes it. But if you are actually a party animal and love to plan everything on your own or in case everyone around you is busy, then do go ahead and plan a shower for yourself. You can ask any of your friends to send the invites and collect the RSVPs. And timing is equally important, as you should be celebrating it at around 4 to 5 weeks before the due date. This will allow you to shop yourself and buy necessities as per your liking.

2- Baby shower for the second and third baby:As baby shower is about celebrating new life, and its completely fine if people want to celebrate each of their child’s birth. You can even plan small get together or brunches with friends if you want to keep the budget low.

3- Fix a date and time:It is suggested to celebrate baby shower when expected lady is 7.5 months pregnant as she will be safely into her pregnancy by then. This time will also let her and her partner, organize their gifts after the event and sail throw those feelings admiring the new life who is about to entre the new world.

4- Choose venue and prepare the guest list with budget:Pre plan and pre select the number of guests based on your budget. Hosting a party at your place won't cost you much compared to reserving a place in a restaurant. However you can consider a hotel or restaurant if you have a large guest list.

5- Crafty games:Many of the showers include gift-opening, games, eating and drinking. The motto behind these activities is to keep people entertained and engaged. You can start the activity once everyone is there.

6- When to open gifts, is it before or after shower? We all love to see tiny clothes and stuffed toys but if you have a gift pile then opening gifts can become a tedious job for guests. Also it may make some of your friends feel bad especially those who might have got you smaller gifts. So, decide with your host when to check the gifts. But the best time is to unpack them later after the shower.
