    Q. What will happen if IVF treatment fails?
    • If IVF procedure fails due to some or the other reason, then the couple needs to take certain measures to achieve success the next time. The infertility specialist usually studies and finds out where the patient needs to take precautions. This helps in performing the next IVF cycle with the required measures to meet the goals.

    • PGD is advised in most of the cases when there were IVF failures. It is important to know the facts about IVF with PGD before opting for the procedure to have a baby. First, few cells are taken from embryo formed in the IVF laboratory of the IVF centre. DNA of the cells is tested to detect any kind of genetic issues possible in the baby. Once the results of the test show that the cells are free of genetic disorders, then the embryo is implanted into the uterus of the woman under the guidance of an experienced infertility specialist. This additional procedure prevents possible chances of miscarriage or lack of implantation of the embryo in the uterus of the patient.
